Entrepreneur of the Year

Seppälä will represent Finland in the world final in Monaco

Ilkka Seppälä, CEO and owner of Marinetek Group Oy, the world famous manufacturer of floating structures and marinas, won the Entrepreneur of the Year Award on 6th November in Helsinki. Seppälä will represent Finland in the International Entrepreneur of the Year final in Monte Carlo next summer. Entrepreneur of the Year is the oldest and most international contest of its kind and has been organised in Finland by Ernst & Young for the past seven years.

"It's unbelievable and, for sure, the most important achievement of my life. It has been possible only because of my great company and its excellent personnel", said Seppälä in his acceptance speech.

"Seppälä convinced the jury with a breathtaking tale of the success and growth of Marinetek. In a very short time the company has been able to gain a strong and global market position with impressive project references". Jury chairman Eero Lehti, Member of Parliament, described Seppälä's success also as "an excellent example of taking risks which pay off."

Marinetek is also Company of Year 2009 in Helsinki

Marinetek Group was also elected Company of the Year 2009 in Helsinki by the Federation of Finnish Enterprises. The award, which attracted 6,000 candidates, was presented on 17th October.

"This year ́s winner, Marinetek, has a unique business idea and product range. It is innovative and internationally fast growing," commented the federation chairman, Pentti Rantala.
